Moms For Real Food asks: Does YOUR school Garden?
Our elementary school does! We have 18 raised beds that the different grades and classes have planted.
During
the summer a few moms will be volunteering with their children to help
tend to these beds so that when the fall some - there will be a
bountiful harvest!! .....

We think that having our children involved in growing is very important! It connects us as parents to children, and us as co-habitants on this earth. It also makes them acutely aware of the fact they are privileged to be able to eat what comes from the earth while learning where their food comes from. They also learn how much hard work goes into growing food! It cultivates more than soil, but appreciation and gratitude!
