How to Make Your Own Beeswax Candles
You will need:
- Heat proof glass candle jar
- Candle Wicks
- Mason jar & stainless Steel pot
- OR Double Boiler
- Beeswax (bulk or other)
- Essential Oils
- We used Melalueca Clove, Cinnamon Bark & Lemon
How To:
(We are using the mason jar & pot method)
- Place wax into mason jar and set into water
- Bring to a boil
- Lower heat to a mild rolling boil
- Allow wax to melt, giving the jar a swirl once in a while (please use over mitts!)
- Assemble heatproof glass, wicks and oils
- Cut wicks to just 1/2 inch over the top of the edge of the glass
- Once wax is melted, dip wick bases into the wax and set to the bottom of the glass jar
- Add your oils to the melted wax - we used 1 part cinnamon, 1 part clove to 1/2 pat lemon.
- (1 part = 10 drops for 8 oz. of wax)
- Pour melted wax into jar, slowly and carefully
- Allow to cool and harden. Curing takes about 24 hours.
